Arctic and Antarctic are considered deserts due to low precipitation. Cold doesn’t mean wet.

Deserts are defined by low precipitation, not heat, and polar regions can receive <250 mm/year (or equivalent). Antarctica is often called the world’s largest desert by that definition.
