The brain is often estimated to have ~100–200 trillion synapses (connections) depending on how you count. The Milky Way has on the order of 100–400 billion stars, so synapses outnumber stars by hundreds of times. It’s not that your brain is “bigger,” it’s that it’s absurdly more connected.
